We are looking forward to upgrading the rest of our clients this spring/summer season, to complete the new SNOWiz AMSCR modernization program.
Doug Dyball Joins the Tradewind Group
2013.03.01 We are pleased to welcome Doug Dyball to our Technical Board as a Senior Advisor, Airfield Maintenance and Operations. Doug recently retired from the GTAA after a long and distinguished career at YYZ, during which time he worked his way from airport maintenance worker right up to Senior Manager, Airfield Maintenance. He was one of the original contributors to the development of Tradewind Scientific's TRACR II® family of airfield condition reporting products, having experienced first hand the challenges of accurate, timely inspection and reporting of airfield surface conditions at Canada's largest airport.
Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company, and we look forward to working with him in continuing to develop effective and practical airfield safety related systems and tools. Our airport clients will have an opportunity to meet and discuss issues of mutual interest with Doug at conferences throughout the year including the International Aviation Snow Symposium (Buffalo), the IAAE Canada Facilities, Operations and Airport Manager's Conference (Saskatoon) and SWIFT (Ottawa).
TRACR II® NavLink Upgrade
2013.01.01 In response to regulatory changes introduced by Transport Canada Advisory Circulars and NAV Canada NOTAM Procedures Manual requirements in Fall 2012, Tradewind has been offering a TRACR II® NavLink module and software updates since October. This has allowed existing and new clients to be fully compliant with these latest requirements. Airports with existing AMSCR systems have an extended grace period until June 2013 to implement the new functionality, as noted by Olivier Meier of NAV Canada at SWIFT 2012.
If you have any questions or would like discuss your particular circumstances regarding the necessary software/hardware requirements to implement a state-of-the-art AMSCR System at your airport, please do not hesitate to contact our Sales and Service Department.

SNOWiz Goes Live!
2012.10.01 In close cooperation with NAV Canada, we are pleased to announce that TRACR NavLink is now in operation at over 12 airports coast-to-coast, including:
Sydney YQY,
Toronto YYZ,
North Bay YYB,
Medicine Hat YXH, and
Victoria YYJ
The rollout of the new TRACR NavLink system commenced in October, following the official launch of the NAV Canada SNOWiz automated electronic interface. This direct digital interface permits the end-to-end communication of Surface Condition Reports generated by TRACR II® systems directly from Airside Inspection Vehicles through to the Airport Operations Offices and onwards to the NAV Canada SNOWiz web servers. TRACR II systems equipped with the TRACR NavLink upgrade can therefore provide accurate, complete and consistent Surface Condition and CRFI Reports (compliant with the latest Transport Canada reporting requirements) quickly and seamlessly to the NAV Canada NOTAMJ distribution system.
Tradewind @ SWIFT
2012.09.17 SWIFT 2012 was an important and successful event, with several members of the Tradewind Group on hand to make session presentations and provide demonstrations concerning the latest technologies in Airfield Inspection and Runway Friction Measurement systems. The venue marked the official launch of the TRACR II® NavLink edition software package as well as for the new TES Mk3 Decelerometer Terminal program. Both new products provide significant enhancements to the well established TRACR II® Airfield Inspection and Reporting Systems in terms of Operator usability and data integration. SWIFT 2013 will be in our home city of Ottawa and we look forward to welcoming our Airport Customers Nationwide to that event!
YYZ Run Results
2012.07.01 June 2012 marked the first foray of the Tradewind Group into 'corporate athletics', with many members of our staff successfully participating in the Toronto YYZ Runway Run. It was a pleasure to be part of that well organized event as a sponsor and we look forward to contributing further in spring 2013.
